By using this site, you accept and agree to these terms…

Copyright. All materials on this site are protected by U.S. copyright as original works. The absence of a copyright symbol does not mean that such materials are not protected. This includes all our advertising and promotion materials, website copy and photos as well as these terms and conditions and anything you download. If you steal anything from this site, we will pursue financial restitution and you will be required to cover all legal fees necessary to enforce these rights.

Affiliate links. This site may contain links to Amazon or other third-party websites. Focused Escapes makes no representations or warranties with respect to these third-party websites. Focused Escapes may or may not get a commission from these links.

Services from our suppliers. In order to create our tours, we procure services from third parties such as airlines, hotels and other lodging providers, local hosts, guides, transportation companies, restaurants and providers of entertainment. These third parties will have terms and conditions that govern their services. When you register for one of our tours, you agree that the terms and conditions of these providers will apply to the services they provide and to hold us harmless (not be liable) for their negligence or other actions as we are just agents.

Participant Agreement. By registering and paying for an expedition, you agree that you have voluntarily chosen to participate on your tour. You acknowledge that all travel is not without risk. And you accept full responsibility.

You agree that the services we provide are on an “as is” and “as available basis.” From time to time, services/accommodations may be changed, altered, discontinued or terminated at our sole discretion. We do not warrant that the services will be error free, free from virus, malware, or harmful code, free from delays, free from Interruptions, free from the negligence of third parties, or will not infringe the Intellectual property rights of any third party.

Should, you decide to sue us for an act of God, illness, bodily injury, imprisonment, death, loss of personal property or anything at all, and we are found not guilty, you agree to pay all of our attorney fees in addition to your own. The most we will be liable for is the lesser of your actual damages or the amount you paid for the tour.

Danger. When you participate on a Focused Escapes tour, you understand that we cannot keep every person, car, boat, volcano, protest, falling branch, danger away from you. Should an accident/incident occur, we will do our best to get you to safety and to medical care.  It is your responsibility to activate your insurance so that you can get home, pay for medical care and/or find a specialist if a specialist is needed. Managing your medical care is not a service we provide.

Photography. Focused Escapes reserves the right to take photographs and videos during the operation of all our tours. While attending, the participant agrees to allow his/her likeness to be used by us and our affiliates without compensation to the participant. If the participant prefers that his/her likeness not be used, he/she must notify us in writing prior to departure of the trip.

Supplemental Terms. Each tour has supplemental terms in addition to these stated here and you will be asked to sign them when you register. If there is a discrepancy between these terms and the Supplemental Terms, the Supplemental Terms will apply. All terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Virginia.

Rates: Tour prices are based on current rates of exchange, tariffs and taxes in effect at the time of publication. Should these rates go up, we will do everything possible to maintain the listed price. But if necessary, we may pass down an increase in price to you.

Trip price typically includes

  • Accommodations as described in the brochure

  • Meals as described

  • All park and admission fees (unless noted)

  • Pre-trip packing guides and other literature

  • Experienced guides and tour manager

  • Gratuities to drivers and guides (unless otherwise noted)

  • All transportation during the trip, whether by boat, train, plane, or camel (unless otherwise noted)

Trip Price Does Not Include

  • Travel insurance

  • Transportation to and from the tour

  • Costs associated with obtaining passports or entry visas

  • Airport departure taxes (unless otherwise noted)

  • Excess baggage charges

  • Alcoholic Beverages (unless stated)

  • Laundry and souvenirs

  • Non-scheduled visits and activities

Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation and medical insurance. We like Allianz.

Conduct During the Tour: We have a kindness policy here.

Your Responsibility: You are responsible for choosing a trip that fits your abilities, level of fitness and health. You must read the pre-trip information material and bring with you all of the appropriate clothing and equipment. We reserve the right to accept, remove, retain or decline any trip member at any time for any reason. We will refund no more than the actual cost of the unused services.

Force Majeure: Focused Escapes shall be excused from performing any obligation in the event such performance is delayed or prevented by reasons of strike, lockouts, restrictive government or judicial orders or decrees, riots, insurrection, war, Acts of God, inclement weather or other similar reason or a cause beyond Focused Escapes’ control.
